PBS KIDS approached Whitmoyer to redesign the "Eat Smart" page. A thorough creative exploration resulted in a fresh design encouraging children to eat healthy foods. The new page highlights relevant video content and features printable activity pages though which even the youngest audience members can engage with the site's content and benefit from its message. Since the intended audience for this page includes public schools and libraries, which often use old or outdated browsers, Whitmoyer introduced HTML5 Boilerplate to ensure that the site looks great and performs well across all browsers and versions, creating a smooth experience for all users.
Whitmoyer approached long-time client and popular Adams Morgan restaurant, Perrys, with an opportunity to better serve the significant percentage of customers who access their website using using mobile devices. Whitmoyer developed a new WordPress child theme, putting commonly requested information (such as hours, location and menu) literally into the hands of smart phone users. The result is a clean, easy-to-use mobile website that is optimized for low bandwidth - enabling customers to easily make a reservation online when they're on-the-go. Updating content in the website admin propagates changes to both versions of the site - ensuring that content is always consistent.
The National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) partnered with Whitmoyer to update their image - strategically rebranding and redesigning their identity in both online and offline media with the objective of differentiating the association from the government's Peace Corps volunteer agency. Starting with redefining the mission statement, Whitmoyer created a new, streamlined user experience - updating branding and visual design, and conducting front-end development. By integrating several existing micro-sites and blogs into the main website, as well as improving the membership and donation areas, the new site presents a wide array of content in a cohesive manner. The result is a beautifully designed and functional portal that enables NPCA staff to efficiently conduct their mission: Supporting returned Peace Corps volunteers and the Peace Corps community, as well as advocating on behalf of the Peace Corps and its values.
To celebrate 50 years of service, Whitmoyer was engaged to help showcase the anniversary of the Peace Corps agency, share upcoming events throughout the year and promote the 50th Anniversary Gala. Whitmoyer strategically developed an innovative single-page experience in WordPress, which included recommending Sched.org to present a complicated list of events surrounding the Peace Corps 50th Anniversary Gala, as well as their role as one of three themes in the 2011 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. This solution integrates easily with mobile devices and popular social networks, tracks speaker and exhibitor lists, and allows visitors to build personal schedules.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is an unprecedented movement that reaches over 10 million people across more than 100 countries with the goal of generating innovative, sustainable enterprises that have a positive impact. The organizers of WordCamp Mid-Atlantic approached Whitmoyer as a preferred vendor for re-branding and redesigning their event website after having seen Whitmoyer's work with BarCamp DC. The resulting design is a visual tribute to the newspaper industry, which also acknowledges the need for forward thinking in online publishing. The site is built as a single page WordPress theme using jQuery & custom Ajax content navigation to enhance the interactive experience.

By using a combination of social networks, video clips, voting and commentary, the Mister Rogers site now serves as a tool to promote "Won't you be my Neighbor?" Day.

Retirement Living TV (RLTV) is a trailblazer in its own right, and has been the only cable network serving the unique entertainment niche of adults over the age of 50 since 2006. When RLTV partnered with Whitmoyer for a complete website redesign, they were looking for a site that would not only cater to their existing audience, but help attract new viewers from their very specific target demographic. By showcasing a combination of program information, video clips, current scheduling and news, the RLTV site now serves as a tool that is both easy to navigate and positioned to expand with the network as it grows.
